About Us

4Impact Advisors helps people of means give in more meaningful ways. While 9 out of 10 wealthy Americans give money or volunteer time every year, only 20% rate their charitable giving as highly effective (“Doing Well at Doing Good,” UBS Investor Watch). Without adequate time to think critically about the issues they care most about and the know-how to connect their dollars to the charities doing the best work, most donors lack a strategic, impact-driven approach to their philanthropy; instead, they respond to the requests that come to them without a coordinated financial plan or priority on giving for impact.

  • For Individuals and Families – Whether you’re just beginning to get serious about philanthropy or are simply looking for a more fulfilling giving experience, 4Impact counsels individuals and families to think more critically about your charitable giving, helping you to hone a philanthropic mission statement and giving strategy focused on maximizing your donations’ social impact.

  • For Professional Advisors and Family Offices – 4Impact partners with wealth advisors, estate planners, tax attorneys, and family offices to strengthen your philanthropy services. We’ll help you have more meaningful conversations with clients about their philanthropic goals and pick up where you leave off to help donors execute on a charitable giving plan.

  • For Foundations – 4Impact helps small or unstaffed foundations turn the giving paradigm on its head. Instead of accepting grant applications and responding to inbound requests for funding, we’ll help you pursue the causes and social issues that mean the most to you with a proactive approach to researching and connecting with the charities doing the best work to advance those causes.

  • For Companies – 4Impact helps companies design corporate social responsibility activities and direct financial and employee resources to outcomes-driven charities that can best steward your investment while lending credibility and visibility to your company’s philanthropy.

4Impact’s principal is Matt Rubinoff. He has nearly 20 years of experience in the social sector. As a nonproft founder and executive, Matt grew frustrated with the culture of philanthropy where “rich organizations get richer” based more on reputation than outcomes, and where donors are lured to fancy galas and charity golf events that are costly, burdensome, and raise money often without an intentional strategy or focus on impact. This frustration led him to start 4Impact Advisors to help individuals, families, foundations, and companies direct their resources more strategically with social impact at the forefront.

Matt is a graduate of Emory University, where he was a Kenneth Cole Community Building and Social Change Fellow, Georgetown University’s Nonprofit Management Executive program, and the Effective Philanthropy for Advisors program at Stanford University’s Center on Philanthropy and Civil Society. His academic foundation in the principles of community building and social change, a passion for high impact philanthropy, and deep knowledge of established and emerging nonprofits across the country addressing myriad causes make him uniquely positioned to lead 4Impact.

He lives in San Clemente, California with his wife and three children.
